This page provides important information to speakers/presenters. If you are not a speaker or presenter at the Conference, the below information does not apply to you and you do not need to submit the forms.
Thank you for your participation in the Canadian Advances in Neuro-Orthopedics For Spasticity Congress (CANOSC), April 5 & 6, 2019, University of British Columbia – Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health, 2215 Wesbrook Mall Vancouver BC Canada V6T 1Z3.
This conference is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, approved by the Canadian Association of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
To meet the accreditation requirements all presenters are required to complete these two forms:
- Session/Presentation Title and Learning Objectives
- Declaration of Conflict of Interest Form
CPD Requirements for Your Presentation
At the beginning of your presentation, you must verbally notify the audience of any real or apparent conflict(s) of interest that may have a direct bearing on the subject matter of the program. As well, at the beginning of your presentation you must identify the learning objectives specific to your presentation which should also be inserted into your slides. If you are a speaker in a session with multiple presenters, please also review the overall learning objectives for the session that have been provided by the Chair.
Your presentation requires a minimum of 25% of interactivity. You may choose a variety of formats for interactivity, e.g. case studies for the presentation, small group activities within workshops, or of course, question and answer periods.
Feedback will be solicited from the participants and will include and evaluation of clarity, organization, value, achievement of learning objectives for each session. You will receive a summary of your evaluation following the event, for your CV and/or teaching and academic portfolio.
We require a headshot photo for the website and program.
Learning Objectives & Session Description
All speakers must submit the learning objectives of their session. These will be included on the website and are required for the CPD applications. If you are a speaker in a session with more than one presenter, please confer with the Chair of your session to clarify the general objectives for the session, and submit the learning objectives for your specific presentation.
Submit a short description of the topic of your presentation in paragraph format. This will be included on the website to provide information to participants about your presentation.
Presentation rooms will be equipped with a full set up for powerpoint presentations (laptop and projector). Bring your powerpoint presentation to the conference on a USB flashdrive to load onto the laptop provided onsite. An a/v technician will be present to help load the presentations.
All scientific sessions will be held at the University of British Columbia – Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health. Additional details are available on the accommodation page.
All speakers are asked to register for the conference. Select “Invited Speaker” from the online form.
